[Sudan] President: Peace Won't Be Stopped08/11/05 -- President Field Marshal Omar Al-Bashir said that he is completely ready for cooperation with the People's Liberation Movement in implementation of the peace agreement and for continuation of joint work started by late Dr. John Garang. President said during his speech in the guest house of the vice-president General Salva Kiir Mayardit that work started by Garang will be continued and that General Salva Kiir will be introduced to all spheres of life after he takes oath today. Vice-president expressed to the President his joy of returning to Khartoum after many years and said that he came back to ensure implementation of the peace agreement and to prove that the agreement belongs to the people of Sudan. Salva Kiir also said that he won't spare any efforts in implementing the agreement, and he explained that this will open new areas for cooperation. He also pointed out that in the next two days he will start discussing with the president the steps that have already been taken and the ones left. Minister of informations and communications Abdel Basit Sabdarat said that the conversation between Al-Bashir and Salva Kiir was friendly and informative and that formation of the united national government was not mentioned. He also explained during a press-conference that the joint commission between the government and the People's Movement will resume its work after General Salva Kiir takes oath and assured that the leadership of the republic will begin meetings devoted to implementation of the plan that has been agreed upon.
